Racist, N-Word Spewing Miami Dolphin Richie Incognito Suspended For Threats And Harassment, But Here Is Why I Am Pissed

You have probably heard about the Miami Dolphin, Richie Incognito, by now. He is the player harassing another player on the team because he is a rookie and mixed American.

Incognito has made it his mission to go out of his way to verbally harass, threaten and call Johnathan Martin the N-Word and much worse. In the NFL and sports in general, there has always been an unwritten rule that younger players are going to get the business by veteran players, but Incognito crossed the line.

The Dolphins suspended left guard Richie Incognito indefinitely for “conduct detrimental to the team in connection to allegations of harassment and bullying teammate Jonathan Martin.”

“We believe in maintaining a culture of respect for one another,” the Dolphins said in a statement released shortly before midnight, “and as a result we believe this decision is in the best interest of the organization at this time. … We will continue to work with the league on this matter.”

CBSSports.com’s Jason LaCanfora reported late Monday morning the texts that Martin turned over to the FIns included ones in which Incognito called him a “half-n*****.” Martin is biracial.

Incognito also allegedly made reference to tracking down members of Martin’s family and harming them in the texts as well, according to LaCanfora.

The CBSSports.com report said Martin, “truly felt that Incognito might be capable of inflicting harm, and for his safety getting away from the team was in his best interests.”

As if that wasn’t enough, apparently Martin was made to pay for lavish restaurant visits for the veteran players. Sometimes the bill would reach into the tens of thousands of dollars on food. All of that is bad, but here is what has me upset this morning.

Where were the other players?

Apparently, this has been going on for over a year, Martin’s rookie season and this year. All of these other players in the locker room watching this madness play out. And what about the black players in the locker room making it comfortable for Incognito to use the N-Word so damn comfortably? Where they afraid of him or just spineless and unprincipled.

Reports are coming out Incognito would constantly bomb Martin with the N-Word and more in the locker room. How do they just sit by and allow this mess? I understand wanting to go to work, collect your check and provide for your family, but damn. At some point, you got to stand up for what is right over a few bucks. Not like you were the one in the wrong. You don’t have to fight Incognito or anyone else for that matter, but you can make it clear that that behavior will not be tolerated.

As usual, the media is being biased, but shout out to Stephen A. Smith for calling them on it.

After the Trayvon Martin comments by Stephen A. Smith where he implied Trayvon brought the situation on himself, I was done with him.

However, yesterday he won me back a little bit by indirectly calling out the media on their bias of not showing Incognito’s image on the television or in pictures.

He stopped his ESPN show “First Take” yesterday to have the producers put up an image of Incognito stating he has listen to reports all weekend long of this situation, but has not once seen a picture of him. Once the image was on the screen, without a helmet on, Stephen said, “Thank You. That is the first picture I have seen of him.” And he was right.

The media bias for keeping white people secluded and safe from negative media images continues in this country and I, for one, was proud of Stephen A.

Smith for calling them out. He wasn’t ignorant with it to the point that it will cost him his job, but he did bring attention to the matter and I appreciated it.

What are your thoughts on this Incognito case and how the media is reporting it?
