Disturbing body camera footage shows a Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) Officer Sarah Stumler shooting an unarmed suspect at the exact moment she finished shouting “Show Your hands”. She immediately says ‘shit’ then the cuff him and she is there saying “You’re okay, just hold on,”.

The cam footage was released on Thursday, police were searching an abandoned building after a report of drug use. The officer was clearly scared and fired off in a second without thought.

Family, friends and advocates say the victim Bruce Warrick, 39, posed no threat. He was known to have suffered depression and substance abuse problems and had often sought refuge in abandoned houses.

Warwick is currently in a serious condition.

Officer Stumler has been placed on administrative leave. She will remain suspended until the investigation is results are conclusive.
