Former NBA Knicks star Amare Stoudemire was already in trouble before for an anti-gay slur and it appears he may be at it again!
These days Stoudemire plays for a Jerusalem team in the Israeli Premier League. Speaking with an an Israeli sports website, Walla Sport, he said of a gay teammate
“I’m going to shower across the street, make sure my change of clothes are around the corner.”
He was asked if it was a joke, his reply:
“there’s always a truth within a joke.”
Back during his Knicks days in 2012 he was fined $50k after he tweeted a gay slur at a fan. During his apology he said he was “a huge supporter of civil rights for all people.”
Now, it seems he thinks that being anti-gay, even if only in a joking manner is ok. Do you think this is ok in this day and age where kids are committing suicide over abuse for their sexuality? Or do you think he is within his rights to have these opinions.
SOUND OFF!
