“You don’t have time to think about it… I did what God needed me to do,” Vickie Williams-Tillman said after saving a policeman from a brutal beating!
Suspect Thomas Bennett was said to have managed to seize the officer’s baton and was beating him over the head with it, 58 year old Williams-Tillman was driving by and withoit thinking she jumped out and jumped on the attackers back, stopping the attack, allowing the officer to restrain that man.
She has been hailed a hero by authorities and of course, I think she is too! She saved another human from violence. And that’s the way it should be. She is a great lady for that.
However, this story leaves me with a bitter taste.
I’m thinking of the amount of times it’s the other way round. A policeman brutally beating a suspect, with hands, a baton, or pointing a firearm at them! What happens when a member of the public sees this is wrong and intervenes?
They get arrested, branded a criminal and often charged.
So, this story makes me feel a bit down! I’d like to know what you think?
