UI… Ui… UI. What has the world come to? I cannot believe that this has happened. Okay… The last time I saw you , I blogged about the Tennessee waitress with the receipt that has the phrase “None Nigger” on the tip line. I got a few responses from it that were very mixed in view. Personally I saw this as a problem because she shared personal information, which I still feel is wrong. However, because of her irresponsible actions she was eventually fired, and for good reason. They say that an individual is intelligent, while the masses are stupid. Well the masses have spoken and accepted her irresponsible behavior. She has been given an upwards of $10k because people felt sorry for her. WTF?!
I cannot believe that people have rallied behind her as if she was a modern-day Rosa Parks. She committed a crime as a result of her not liking a person’s racist comments and has been rewarded for it. I am appalled. We have simply enabled her to know think that she can do whatever she wants in the name of civil rights and opinion. I don’t agree with this at all. I’m sorry but there is no way you can justify this action. She knew what she was getting into and now does not have to suffer any consequences. It’s almost disgusting. We try to teach our black children about personal responsibility and self preservation, yet things like this make our case extremely weak. We were all upset about the people who helped Zimmerman who A: Committed a crime B: felt justified in Murder and C: Get away with said crime, receiving money and financial help for his CRIME. Yet we turn around and give this young girl a $10,000 for well… In a lot of respects the same thing?!
It upsets me that we operate as a people under the laws of hypocrisy. Why in our culture is it okay for us to do certain things and not okay for others? If the situation had been in reverse we would be talking about how all racist whites tick together by their support of a white waitress who did the same thing. I am honestly disgusted by this. However maybe you are not. Just maybe you feel that this is some type of vindication for what was written? I’m just not buying it.
Also I would like to address another elephant in the room… The note’s handwriting and the signature dies not match the written “None Nigger” note. So if you don’t believe that it was even real… She just essentially scammed America out of $10,000 all due to our fear of racial tension. That to me is even more disgusting than if the note had actually been written. So many people fought and died during the civil rights movement just form some waitress to come along and exploit it for profit and gain. Look I maybe wrong, and there of those of you who may disagree. However the bottom line is she committed a crime and has been rewarded for it. What does that tell our children? What does that tell other young people? What say you UI…? What say you? You can read the article in the link that I have posted below.
