Shelia Fedrick instinctively knew something was up when she saw the girl.
Fedrick, an Alaska Airlines flight attendant, was working on a flight from Seattle to San Francisco.
In the window seat of aisle 10 she saw a girl with greasy blonde hair.
She said that the girl who was around 14 or 15 years old “looked like she had been through pure hell,”, she was with a well dressed older man. The contrast of the pairing set off alarm bells.
She tried to talk to the pair but the man became defensive, so she took action and left a not for the girl in the bathroom.
The girl wrote back saying “I Need Help”.
Fedrick talked to the pilot and they arranged to have the police waiting when the plane landed!
Her intuition may have saved a girl from a life of torture.
Flight attendants who attend Airline Ambassadors events learn to spot these signs, they see people every day and no doubt many are traveling against their will, so if a flight attendant can spot signs and learn techniques that could save lives then the time is well spent.
Fedrick did a wonderful thing, she acted instead of just passing it by.
