Dr. Umar, We Don’t Need A Prince To Lead, We Are Already Kings And We Need Unity!

Dr. Umar Johnson has caused quite a stir recently with his tacky and childish attack against General Seti. The rant involved far too much use of the n-word, it attacked light skin and albino members of the community. As one young Albino man said, he made himself look like a clown!

Now, he sort of gave an apology, but lets face it, it was one of those kind of sorry “but”….. apologies, not 100% heartfelt and countered with an attack. He was upset that the media ran so far with this. However, at the end of the day he never should have done it.

Umar has done a lot for pan africanism and the black “conscious” community. However, he has also alienated and hurt a lot of people along the way, been two faced and angry at times.

This is a man who thinks he was placed on this earth to lead, his ego in many ways seems out of control. He even calls himself ‘The Prince of Pan Africanism’, but as we know with princes, they are little sh*ts and Johnson has been that way on more than one occassion.

I think the community is beyond that kind of petty childish behavior. Who needs a prince when there are already fully formed kings and queens, who needs a bratty little angry ego filled man when the entire cause needs to move way beyond ego.

Umar still has a place at the table if he wants it, he too can be a king but the ego needs to be checked at the door, the community needs to work together and solutions need to be found through Unity and embracing disagreements and ideologies about where and who and why and what.

The days of the bratty prince are numbered, now it’s time for the kings and queens to step up.
