Run DMC Suing Amazon And Wal-Mart For $50M, BUT WHY?

by | Dec 31, 2016 | Celebrities, News | 0 comments

The Run DMC brand is iconic, it’s a classic… The logo is instantly recognisable as theirs, even when it’s used for other wording! A brand like that needs to be held close and tight so it’s not diluted and lost!

So, Run DMC founder and owner of the Run-DMC Brand LLC, Darryl McDaniels, doesn’t take it lightly when others use that brand. ESPECIALLY mega corps such as Amazon, Wal-Mart, Jet.com and others who have been named in a $50m lawsuit for copyright infringement.

On Thursday McDaniels filed the suit which alleges these companies are infringing on the trademark by using the bands image and name without permission. The argument is that it hurts license agreements such as the one the brand/band have with Adidas.

The suit says that the, “plaintiff will suffer immediate and irreparable injury, loss, or damage”

He is seeking at least $50m in the suit!
