This is not Your Fight: Is Sexism Really Worse Than Racism?

by | Dec 27, 2016 | Culture | 0 comments

A white feminist reached out to this young lady and told her what an amazing asset she’d be in the feminist movement. Explaining to her that sexism is worse than racism because women have never had the same rights as men. But this sister made a great point, white women have always been treated better than black men and black women need to understand that feminism is not our fight. Black women are doing a hell of a lot better than black men. So what are black feminist fighting for?

I agree with most of what she said but this is where our opinions differ, she said originally the white feminist movement had nothing to with the black man or the black woman. The only reason white feminist reached out to black women was because they needed numbers and signatures. I say, when the white feminists reached out to black women it had EVERYTHING to do with black men and black women and it’s called divide and conquer.

The first signs that a revolution was about to begin was in 1919 when black soldiers returning from battle fought back against white mobs during the Red Summer of 1919. The following summer we had the fight for Women’s Suffrage, August 1920. What better way to divide and conquer than to convince black women that their struggle was separate from the black man’s struggle. Our struggle is the black man’s struggle and always has been. When black people began to make progress by working together and building strong family units the feminist swooped in and did what they were designed to do, break up the family unit and convince black that they don’t need a man (which she also hit on in the video).

Black feminist open your eyes, wake up, we are doing very well right now, how are our black men doing? Wake up, were white feminist flooding the streets for justice when Sandra Bland’s video was released and you could clearly see the white male cop was harassing her because he could? Wake up, convincing black women not to support “Birth of Nation”, when every black person breathing should have seen the sacrifice these black men made just to free their families. Wake up black feminist, black women are doing great in comparison to black men! What are you fight for?
