White students from Warrensburg High School in Missouri held up a Trump sign and turned their backs on the rival team, a prodominately black basketball team, during a high school basketball game.

The act is being deemed “unsportsmanlike” and “insensitive” and the school district is apologizing but we all know that this act feels like blatent racism.

A clip posted by Toniaa Lakylia Nunn on facebook showed this horrible mess taking place before the game on Monday night.

The district posted a statement on Facebook saying:

Members of our student body acted inappropriately and were insensitive toward our opponents. The Warrensburg R-VI School District does not condone these actions and apologizes to anyone who was offended by the actions of these students. We will do everything we can to keep incidents like this from happening again.

Warrensburg Superintendent Scott Patrick spoke to the Kansas City Star that students have a tradition of turning their backs on opponents! However, the Trump sign threw this to a new level!

Patrick told the Star

“I think in this case, [the Trump sign] was really the difference in what took this from something that was unsportsmanlike to something that was insensitive, not necessary and inappropriate,”

Many students spoke out saying it does not reflect them but it’s disgusting that this could ever happen.
