JUSTICE? Wrongfully Convicted Black Man Spent Given Just $75 After 31 Years In Prison (He Just Wants A Million And That’s Really Not Much To Ask)

60-year-old Lawrence McKinney from Memphis Tenn., s convicted of rape and bulglary in 1978 and sentenced to 115 years in jail.

The key was throw away on his life, until a life-line was thrown in 2009 when DNA evidence ruled him out as a suspect and he was released. On release you’d think a wrongfully convicted man would get the treatment he deserves, the resources to attempt to claw back some of the life he lost, the 31 years behind bars that he lost.

But Lawrence was given just $75.

This is beyond shameful! The government and legal system that is supposed to be there to support and protect ruined his life and left him out to starve.

He is fighting, fighting for $1 million in compensation so he can live his days out in peace and comfort. However, the exoneration case was already denied twice already. The last time in September the parole board voted 7-0 to deny. Who are these monsters?

Lawrence told CBS

“I don’t have no life, all my life was taken away,”

And his lawyer Jack Lowery told them

“It is not justice for him not to receive compensation for being wrongfully imprisoned,”

And after all this his name is still not officially cleared, the case would allow for that option too.

The executive clemency application was received by the governer’s office on Nov. 21 and now the final say rests with Gov. Bill Haslam (R-Tenn.).

We just hope he does the right thing, hopefully nationally exposing this story will help him make his mind in what I feel is the obvious right direction.

However, there are issues, some people still are not convinced of his innocence. Some thing that the district attorney did not provide sufficient evidence and that it was was properly tested!
