Everyone knows they need to eat fresh to be healthy but lets face it, logistically that can be hard for low income families in disadvantaged communities. However maybe there is a chance for a world where the food can come to you direct, no matter where you are!

That world is here thanks to an idea developed by black entrepreneur Jay Holmes and other founders of Market Boxx Community Stores.

Jay’s first store is in Milwaukee, WI, a pilot store for something he hopes will catch on.

The idea goes beyond food. It’s hoped that jobs will also come to Urban Communities. Each store is a small shed on wheels with vinyl windows. A versatile but robust structure. Inside fresh produce, fruit and veg and deli items, all available for direct purchase.

Market Boxx is trying to work with community organisations to get their mobile stores into places they are needed.

The plan is to educate those who sign up, to grow a small-scale economy and push forward the business idea to let people make it on their own.

Personally, I LOVE this idea, it creates an answer to so many needs.
