Tommy Ford, most famous for acting alongside Martin Lawrence in all five seasons of the show Martin has sadly passed away.

It’s a real tragic death, at the young age of 52, and all resulting from complications with a knee operation.

Tommy went in for a knee operation, however it led to a a ruptured aneurysm and Tommy went on life support.

His death was earlier reported (and at the time was not true), however, the family have now confirmed that Tommy has been taken off life support and has passed away.

The released a statement to People saying:

“It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Son, father, brother, husband, and friend Tommy Mykhal Ford. On behalf of the family, we would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers. Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. Please respect the privacy of the Ford family during our time of grief.”

Many took to Twitter to show sadness of his passing, including long time friend Martin Lawrence.

Tommy Ford’s net worth added up to about $2 million at the time of his death due to sheer hard work. Asides from Martin, he acted for over three decades and in over 80 TV shows and movies. He worked hard in the straight to DVD market (three films in the last year). He obviously earned that cash!

He also had a few interesting projects.

Tommy believed a man should be groomed and had a business selling Tommy’s Ties. Reversible bow ties at $75-$85 a piece. He also hosted Tommy-Tie Town Hall every year where he brought young men and community leaders together. He promoted that young men without ties were given one and taught how to tie it.

He also wrote children’s books! Inspirational ones. Stop The Violence! and I Am Responsible For Me!

He helped raise awareness for breast cancer teaming up with Viviane Brazil Collections.

He gave motivational speeches, Produced a Documentary on Bullying in African-American Communities and generally left the world around better than when he came into it.

REST IN POWER Tommy.
