Beyonce has been doing great work regarding the voice of Black people and bringing to light important issues. As big sis dominates the pop world with important naratives it’s clear it’s been impacting on her younger sister Solange.

Solange has released her new album, A Seat At The Table, her first full length album in eight years.

And you know what? It’s so damn packed with voices and influences from across the African Diaspora that you have to listen to it, it’s damn inspirational, important and a full body of work that mst not be missed.

And, it sounds pretty damn good too! Smooth, alternative, retro yet fresh.

The full album can be heard below ater the video for the first single ‘Don’t Touch My Hair’

Absolutely stunning!

The album is so packed full of influences it’s hard where to start but Ok Africa has rounded up a good amount of them in their article here.
