Colin Karpernick has inspired a lot of players to kneel during the National Anthem including some players on the Miami Dolphins’ roster. In spite of the Dolphins peaceful and silent protest against police brutality and the mistreatment of people of color in this country the Florida’s Sheriff office is refusing escort the players to the games. This does nothing but continue to prove the point that so many officers and white American are trying to disprove and that point is white Americans thrive off of the submission of blacks in this country.

We can clearly see in the three videos that went viral that a lot of officers in this country are racist and/or rogue. This can be said definitively because when police officers witness other officers breaking the law, the stay silent. And now your solution to a peaceful protest is nanny-nanny boo-boo we can protest too. The only difference is our protest could potential put you in danger, leaving the players exposed to other people who do not approve of their protest. And the media has shown us that Florida is full of gun toting mental unstable people.

President of the International Union of Police Associations, Jeffrey Bell said,

“I respect their right to have freedom of speech. However, in certain organizations and certain jobs you give up that right of your freedom of speech temporary while you serve that job or while you play in an NFL game.”

These men are protesting something real, this is not a joke. People are being killed unjustly at the hands of people who took an oath to protect them and the killer is later paid for the murder. Are officers now just paid assassins? We criticize people in communities plagued with gang violence for implementing the no snitching rule but turn a blind eye when police officers do it.

Hopefully the Nation of Islam will step up and provide service for these players as they did for Beyoncé. I love the way this country continuously tries to punish black people for not being okay with racism, discrimination, and police brutality. What a wonderful country we live in.
