Cicely Tyson to Be Honored By Congressional Black Caucus Foundation for Her Lifetime Achievements

Actress Cicely Tyson is one of the most celebrated figures in the entertainment industry for outstanding career achievements.

The 91-year New York born actress will be receiving a Lifetime Achievement award from the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) at the Annual Legislative Conference this year.

Cicely along with Dionne Warwick and Richard Roundtree will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award during this year’s 20th Annual Celebration of Leadership in the Fine Arts.

CBCF President and CEO, Shuanise Washington in her press statement said that this year’s honorees have distinguished themselves as being remarkable leaders and passionate advocates of arts and education.

She also stated that with honorees lifetime role in entertaining and educating the public, their outstanding contributions and commitment to arts cannot be overlooked.

She added that this has elevated the visibility of CBC Spouses Visual and Performance Arts Scholarship Program.

The event will be taking place on 14, September in Washington, D.C.

The awards will be conferred on artists whose legacy consists of extraordinary work and commitment to cultivating future generation artists.
