Florida has two black owned banks, it’s a state with the 11th highest African American population (2010) and a huge latino and immigrant population. There is a lot of reason to support the black owned banks in Florida.
A recovering economy has come to the sunshine state with it’s Disney and other theme park attractions, party cities and northern white snowbird residents but the black economy, according to some, remains stagnant.
Like much of the US, poverty and bad conditions mean it’s tough being black, tough to make a break and despite a black police chief terrible incidents of police brutality still are rampant.
In many cases black banks and credit unions were formed to serve the interest of a disenfranchised black community, that in the past were not allowed to bank with mainstream white banks. They have a strong track record of reinvesting into the local community and loaning to small black business.
In short keeping you spending and saving and banking black is for the good of the black community!

A black owned bank/credit union is needed for the Broward County Residents. There is a large black population in Broward County. Miami is close enough for a day trip but not to meet my/Broward County’s daily banking needs. And Tallahassee is 4-5 hour’s away.
Samantha, I agree with you. There is a huge black population in Broward county which, would do well in investments.
it’s a shame Flo rida is from there but he’s a sell out he’s from Carol city like travvon Martian but his banks are all white as his music freeze and eclass are from the community how could this be ?
