Obamacare had a lot of naysayers and a lot of work is still going in by some to cut it down. But if you go by the numbers and this new study is right, it’s effect can’t be argued.
The new study made a prediction that the federal forecast of national health care spending under the Obamacare health law was an overestimate and actually $2.6 trillion less will be spent over a five-year period. Now this is something really rare!
Obamacare (the Affordable Care Act was passed in 2010) saw an expansion of health coverage to millions of Americans and of course this initially would cause an increase to the spending budget.
However it seems the estimates were well over. Spending under any system was always likely to increase and the Washington Post reported that “new estimate from the Urban Institute suggests national health spending is on to track reach $4 trillion by 2019.”
