Gaspar Yanga, The Harlem Hellfighters – Cartoon Series “Heroes Of Color” Teaches Us All About Our History

Let’s face it, we all need to brush up on black history. The mainstream history we all learn at school was missing a fair few chapters and sold us on downright lines. We don’t want our kids to face the same fate we did either!

And that’s where absolutely amazing initiatives like the new cartoon series “Heroes Of Color” comes in.

The mini-documentary series is created by David Heredia (@HerediaDesigns) and he describes it by saying “Our heroes don’t need capes! My new series in development celebrates people of color”

And from the first two episodes I have already personally been educated. Have you heard of Gaspar Yanga, who escaped poverty and created a haven for black people and the first free black town? Have you heard of the Men of Bronze/Harlem Hellfighters who fought gallantly alongside the French in WWII despite being trodden down by their own country (America)?
