The Times has been going for some time now and it’s reporters have bagged a lot of visual history over the years. Now throughout February the paper has been releasing an awesome array of images from it’s archives and finally publishing them in an interactive project called “Unpublished Black History.
Below is a photo from 1969, showing “Young paraders marched along Seventh Avenue for the city’s first Afro-American Day parade.” The photo is credited to Donal F. Holway/The New York Times.
