Some amazing things have been transpiring this year during Black History Month now we have one more thing to add to the list. Today it was announced that Channing Dungey will be the new president of ABC Entertainment Group. Making her the first African American President of the company. She will be succeeding Paul Lee, who has been president since 2010 and was an advocate for more diversity at the network.

After Lee’s resignation the decision for his replacement was easy. For over a decade Dungey has been an executive at ABC. She is transitioning from the No. 2 creative executive at the network to the president. Disney-ABC Television Group Chairman gave Dungey tremendous praise stating, “Channing is a gifted leader and a proven magnet for top creative talent, with an impressive record of developing compelling, break through programming that resonates with viewers.”
This has been an amazing month for Black History, hopefully we will break a few more records before the month comes to an end.
