Nigeria’s Young Billionaire Entrepreneurs
In Africa, Nigeria needs no introduction. It is the largest economy of Africa with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of over $590 billion. It is also the most populous country in Africa. The rise of Nigeria has been similar to the rise of emerging economies of the world courtesy the entrepreneur ability of its citizens. Nigeria has its own rising star billionaires that make their country proud. Below is list of few of them.
SIJIBOMI OGUNDELE
Sijibomi Ogundele popularly known as Suji because of his company’s name Sujimoto, at 34 is arguably Nigeria’s youngest billionaire. Sijibomi has turned the real estate industry on his head through his company Sujimoto. He has developed the luxury real estate market in Nigeria and was also featured in list of Forbes Africa’s brave young entrepreneurs. In one of his interviews to the media he mentioned how important he thinks it is to give back to the society from where he had risen. He and his company have been involved in helping young entrepreneurs through various programs.
Sijibomi is also known for living a grand lifestyle as was seen on his birthday bash but he balances it perfectly by being involved in humanitarian initiatives.
LADI DELANO LADI
A young entrepreneur Ladi Delano Ladi made his first million not in Nigeria but in the competitive market of China. He founded a liquor company named Solidarnosc Asia which sold a premium brand of vodka called Solid XS. He was only 22 then!!
Ladi after make millions through the liquor business sold it and entered the real estate business. Now at the age of 35 he is the billionaire CEO of Bakrie Delano Africa. His company is involved in varied sectors across Nigeria, be it mining, oil, gas, agriculture. He didn’t escape Forbes eyes either and was named one of Nigeria’s top earners to look out for.
IGHO SANOMI
Igho Sanomi was born in a prestigious family. His mother Mabel Iyabo is a royal in the Ijesha Kingdom in the state of Osun. Igho’s father retired as assistant Inspector General of Nigeria Police. However the empire Igho Sanomi made is much to do with his great entrepreneur skill. At 40 years of age he is the founder and CEO of Taleveras Group. This conglomerate spans its wings across energy, construction and power to name a few.
Igho Sanomi is a well known name in the world of energy, involved in business with the likes of Royal Dutch Shell and others. His company trades over 100 million barrels of crude oil annually besides LPG, jet fuel and gasoline. Igho Sanomi topped ‘Choiseul 100 Africa Economic Leaders for Tomorrow’ list second year in a row in 2015. This report published by Institut Choiseul ranks Africa’s young leaders under 40 who are driving Africa’s economic growth.
