Have you heard of the Maasai Cricket Warriors? Well, me either until recently! These guys picked up cricket in 2007 and have now managed to become a semi-professional team!

They took to cricket quickly finding many of the movements natural to them, they became good enough to become semi-professional and even traveled to London for a tournament.

Of course they have gotten quite a following and the group are using their new found celebrity status for good.

They work hard to raise awareness and fight against female genital mutilation, substance abuse, they promote conservation, and teach about HIV/AIDS prevention.

The team now stands at 25, they have been the subject of a documentary and their rise to fame has given them clout to speak to village leaders to help discourage girls being married off young.

A cool and inspirational story, check out the trailor for their doc below and read more on the Huff: http://huff.to/1JUPK6H
