The Bible Told From The Black Point Of View For Kids | Does This Help Or Harm Black Kids?

Most of us can agree that the bible is a huge part of black history after becoming slaves in the United States. Some would argue that the bible and religion hinders black people when it comes to growth, our history, and etc because it still keeps us attached to “Massa”. White America made sure that all images of biblical figures were white and that they had white names.

Would your point of view change on this subject if the same biblical stories were told from a black point of view? Meaning that all the characters where black. There is a black cartoon that is out for kids to learn the the history of the bible, but from a black perspective. I’m all for creating black positive images for kids, but does the biblical stories still hinder us?

This is the kind of cartoon Black children should be watching.

You can’t tell the Bible from the “Black point of view.” There’s nothing but Black people in it unless it mentions Greece or Rome. It is a BLACK HISTORY BOOK, not a book with a ‘Black point of view.’
