Delaware State University gave a Ph.D to a very special man on December 20th. His Doctor of Philosophy degree in Applied Chemistry was successfully granted in June after he defended his dissertation in a paper entitled “Thermodynami and Kinetic Studies of Alkali Metal Doped-Lithium Amide-Magnesium Hydride Hydrogen Storage System.”
At just 22 year old Dr. Jalaal A. Hayes has made history as the State’s youngest to receive such a qualification but he has also done so much more!
He graduated high school in 2008 at just 15 years old, then three ears later he got his bachelor’s degrees in General Science and History from Lincoln University.
As he studied his doctorate he lectured as a a Carl Storm Fellow in Easton, Massachusetts, and Tuscany, Italy! He somehow found time for journal article writing and research as part of a hydrogen research team that was granted a U.S. gov patent!
Wow, just wow!
Thanks to The Black Homeschool for alerting us to this role model, who you can read a little more about here: http://www.theblackhomeschool.com/2015/12/24/meet-delaware-states-youngest-ever-ph-d-holder-22-year-old-jalaal-hayes/
