When you die, will you leave bills or benefits?
This is the powerful question asked by the trailer of the new film being produced called “Black Friday”. After thinking about it for a moment, many of the respondents were baffled, puzzled and had to get honest that they are on a path to leave bills rather than benefits for the next generation.
How about you? Will you leave bills or benefits?
Hopefully, you will grow over the course of your life to leave the latter instead of the former, but the unfortunate truth is most of our people are not ready for that life.
They, we, are selfishly obsessed with our appearance of wealth and not the actual accumulation of wealth. It is our materialistic society and behavior that fuels our economic destruction. In addition, it is our ignorance of starting, owning and investing in black businesses as well that keep us in this sub-standard class.
According to the ‘Black Friday’ website:
With over $1.1 trillion dollars in annual spending power, the African American if it were a nation would be the 16th largest on the planet in terms of spending. However, one of our issues is we don’t benefit from that economic engine, other communities and people do because we freely give it to them.
This film is very timely and features some black heavy hitters speaking on the rising economic movement in the community, which is great. Some of the participants include Dr. Claude Anderson, Dr. Umar Johnson, David Banner, Hill Harper, Cynthia Bailey, Jacob York, Judge Hatchett, Ona Brown and Chike Akua.
The film will be released November 14th, 2015, but pre orders will be shipped November 13th, 2015.
There are live premiere dates and screening available Nov 13015 in Atlanta, Georgia. You can get more information from the website along with the details.
SOUND OFF: What do you think about this film and will it help the black community wake up economically?
