Clearly, those in Congress act as if they are always on drugs and the majority of Americans believe testing our “leaders” would be a good idea.

Afterall, no one on drugs should be receiving Governmental assistance, right?

This is the argument you hear all the time for people receiving American taxpayer dollars  to to be drug tested.

Before individuals receive aid, food stamps or any sort of Governmental assistance, you hear some Congressmen saying they should be drug tested. If the test is positive, then they shouldn’t receive their funds.

First of all, this is a terrible idea and nothing but a money grab for these Congressmen’s corporate funders that happen to own the drug testing agency that would administer the testing. However, a recent poll discovered Americans would like to see Congress tested for drugs…..after all, they are receiving American taxpayer dollars, right?

From CounterCurrentNews.com: A YouGov poll found that 78% of U.S. citizens are in favor of requiring random drug testing for members of Congress. A full 62% said they “strongly” favor this, compared with only 51% who feel the same way about food stamp and welfare recipients.

The support for this move was bipartisan, as 86% percent of Republicans, 77% of Democrats and 75% of independents support the mandatory drug tests for members of Congress.

It would seem that more Americans aren’t worried about drugs, they are upset with the hypocrisy of U.S. lawmakers, who carry on this charade of a “War on Drugs” while using the very things they pass laws against.

The poll was conducted by YouGov and Huffington Post.

We are willing to bet the majority of Americans already believe the members of Congress are on drugs based on the way they govern the country. However, it wouldn’t be the drugs they have declared war on…you know, the drugs that typically are found in poor, minority communities. Congress would be doing rich man drugs of cocaine and prescription pills.

Either way, the majority of Congress seems to be on drugs according to the American people and should be drug tested before receiving taxpayer dollars.
