“Our juice bars are open in the hoods on purpose to educate our people on health awareness,” Jadakiss says. “In the poor communities, it’s mostly the money gets invested in liquor stores and kinda things we really don’t need,” says Styles P.

We really love and appreciate our celebrities and people who have made it out of the “Hood”, but make it their purpose to come back and make sure it improves for the next generation. This is exactly what Jadakiss and Styles P of The Lox are doing for Yonkers, NY and beyond.

Jason “Jadakiss” Phillips and David “Styles P” Styles are better known as the dynamic rap duo The Lox. Their hard hitting sound of the 1990s and early 2000s created anthems for many young black people growing up in tough neighborhoods, but today they are much different.

Today, they are building a healthy life business called “Juices for Life”. Their motto is “Love is Love” and they will put their businesses in urban communities and particularly the “Hood”, as they call it.

[ADSENSE2]They say the plan is to purposefully put their entrepreneurial juice business in these communities to provide healthy alternatives for the residents whom otherwise don’t have many health options.

The rap duo is partnering with Juice Lee, co-founder and co-owner of Juices for Life to help bring their health juice options to the community. They already have two locations up and running, but are talking about further expansion.

The first location was in the Bronx, NY located at 1026 Castle Hill Ave and has received great reviews via their Yelp page. Visitors are giving the healthy juice bar great ratings, leaving testimonials and pictures of their experience.

The second location was opened last year in the hometown of the Jadakiss and Styles P, Yonkers, NY. They held a grand opening of the facility at 211 Nepperhan Ave, Yonkers, NY on June 17th, 2014. The location has been thriving and doing very well.

Recently, Jadakiss and Styles P sat down with Elite Daily to discuss their Juice Bar business in the Hood. Take a listen to why they felt it was necessary and what they hope to accomplish with the effort.
