Deion Sanders Tells His Son To “Stop The Hood Stuff” on Twitter, He Ain’t About That Life

Parenting is a tough job. I think most of us would agree it is the hardest thing you will ever love. And although we all want to make and earn more money, it would seem parenting wealthy children has its own challenges.

How do you keep a child that knows he will have millions of dollars at his disposal grounded? How do you parent that child into a rational, reasonable, aware, conscious human being? How do you keep them from pretending to be something their not? How do you keep them away from the glorified “Hood” the media promotes as the place to be when you know it isn’t.

I know what you are thinking, “Try me. I will figure it out.” LOL, to be honest, i’m not mad at you because I would love to struggle with this issue, but I think we can admit it would come with some challenges.

My friends and I all grew up in the “Hood”, found our way to college, got graduate degrees, and make pretty good money. We are not pulling Deion Sanders cash, but we make good for ourselves and our children don’t have to grow up in the same environments we had to navigate on a daily basis. They are in a good place, but even our level has challenges. Can only image what the Deion’s of the world are dealing with as parents.

Well, Deion Sanders isn’t new to parenting, dealing with money or keeping his children grounded as a result.

Yesterday, his son made a post about some “hood doughnuts” he loves so much that caught some attention. Here is the tweet below.

Deion Sanders saw this tweet and didn’t think it was so funny, but what we appreciate is he didn’t call, text or even direct message his son. He use the @ reply to speak directly to him in public saying:

Sometimes children love to act out a life they don’t actually live on social media. Deion took it upon himself to remind his son he isn’t from the “Hood”, nor does he represent it.

SOUND OFF: Do you think Deion did the right by responding in public or should have kept that a private matter?
