Bengals Devon Still Jersey Sales Raise $1M For Cancer Treatment & 4 Yr Old Daughter Has Tumor Removed

This is a wonderful story from the beginning, but we are glad to announce there is more great news to report.

If you don’t recall, Devon Still plays football for the NFL’s Cinnicinati Bengals, but was cut over the summer from the team. After learning his four year old daughter had stage four cancer, the Bengals decided to keep Still on the practice squad so he could have health coverage to take care of his daughter’s needs.

Since this time, Still has been upgraded to being on the actual 53 man roster, but more importantly, his daughter is doing much better. She isn’t in the clear yet, but things are progressing in the right direction.

She survived the surgery and is doing well, but still not cancer free as of yet. She has stage 4 neuroblastoma in her bone marrow and will need additional rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and stem cell treatments.

“We applaud Devon for his openness in sharing his daughter’s challenging story nationwide through media and social media,” Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn said. “We also applaud the response of our fans and many others to the jersey sales. The welfare of Devon and Leah are foremost in our minds, but we are proud and excited to be able to be a part of something that can help advance the cause of fighting childhood cancer.”

New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton is among those who have purchased Still’s jersey, buying 100 of them with his own money and donating the physical jerseys to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Boys and Girls Clubs around southwest Ohio.

Still and the Bengals have started a fundraiser for pediatric cancer research. Each of the $100 Devon Still jersey sales proceeds goes toward this effort. And on Sunday, they announced 10,000 jersey sales, raising close to $1 million dollars for the fund raiser.

Still and the Bengals are turning a difficult trial and situation into a blessing for others through their fundraising efforts. In addition, Still has said he is going to continue the fundraising for pediatric cancer research through his own foundation to continue the effort and support others going through one of the most difficult fights of their life.

Peace, love and blessings to the Still Family and little Leah.
