Why Does Tweeting “14” Make You a Racist?

Twitter went nuts after Ann Coulter sent out what many believed to be a cryptic tweet Thursday morning. Her Tweet “14!” seems innocent, right? But it actually has many of thinking she’s a Neo Nazi/ Alt-Right or whatever they choose to refer to themselves as in the 21st century.

Ann Coulter responded to the criticism and claims of her being racist by letting everyone know she was simply counting down the days until Obama’s presidency ends and she can happily welcome Trump into office. But one response was hilarious and debunks her failed cover up: “I should note Coulter has just addressed the issue. She says her ‘14’ tweet was a reference to the fact that Obama leave office in 15 days.”

Why does 14 lead people to believe she’s racists? Unfortunately, 14 is a popular reference used by white supremacists. The phrase “14”, “14 words” or “Fourteen Words” was coined by David Lane, a member of the white supremacist terrorist group known as The Order.

Fourteen can be used to refer to different 14-word slogans used by white supremacist:

“We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.”

“Because the beauty of the White Aryan woman must not perish from the earth.”

Some of her fans responded to her Tweet with “88” which means “HH” which is the code for “Heil Hilter.”

Be who you are Ann Coulter, don’t let the criticism of others alter who you are. If she’s a racist, honestly it is what it is. Just use the actions of ignorance to push you closer to your goals. We should expect to see more of this behavior from white supremacist, the KKK, and the alt-right, get ready for the ride.
